At the moment we are running two of the European Life
long learning programmes.
The Leonardo da Vinci adult programme and the Young Leonardo project.
It is our first year as Brighton & Hove’s provider for incoming Leonardo students.
So far we have successfully completed two Young Leonardo groups from Italy
and a couple of very small placement groups from Saarland in Germany.
We are currently hosting an adult Leonardo project group.

Our feedback so far has been excellent for all areas that we deal with:
Host families: we run a large and thriving summer school, and therefore we
have the very best of our host families available to house Leonardo students.
School: we can either run the classes ourselves with our very qualified staff
or, more usually, we place students at a wonderful school in Hove, where they
have the chance to mix with many nationalities and make new friends and contacts.
Work placements: we have a varied range of excellent work placements,
which allows students to learn new skills and enables them to improve
their English further. We place according to school subject, desired
area of employment and of course the students level of English.
Most importantly, we think, for students who are very new to the adult
work world, all our employers are very pleasant friendly people.

Caterina Gallo at Oxfam Books in Hove – Brighton. She was flavour of the month, discovering a book priced at £0.50 was really worth £100s |
Lorenzo Tanoni working at the Komedia, Brighton. Here he is conducting auditions for the Treason Show – www.treasonshow.co.uk. |
Sara Tornatola at Oxfam Bookshop, Kensington Gardens, Brighton. It is in one of the busiest areas of Brighton. |
Leisure time: the programmes we offer are tailor made for each group, but
always include a trip to London, a town walk, a visit to the Royal Pavilion,
a visit to a historical castle, a cream tea (which we use as an opportunity
to get feedback in a very informal and relaxed atmosphere), a couple of evening
activities, and, of course, anything else that the group organiser desires.
Looking after of students and the group: we are in constant contact with both
students and (in the case of Young Leonardo) leaders. We monitor lessons and all
work placements. We always meet groups on arrival for transfer to host families
and on departure. We also have a certificate presentation and feedback evening.
Feedback and administration: as with all projects run by the European Union,
there is a sizable amount of very important paper work to be completed!
We always produce detailed reports as required, and we produce them on time.
We are more than happy to provide testimonials, and of course you are
most welcome to contact the groups and leaders that have come so far!
(We will provide contact e-mails for serious enquiries – i.e. from Group
leaders, teachers and from National and Regional offices).

We are very happy to tailor the Leonardo courses that we offer so that
they suit a particular group’s needs or so that they meet the requirements
of applicants coming from that particular country.
